2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Throughout our media product we use many different media techniques to represent particular social groups. The main social group that is represented in "don't look back" is stereotypical teenagers. however the film opening also represents football fans in general. One way in which we represent stereotypical teenagers is through the use of costume. we decided to dress are actor in jeans , a patterned jumper and Fred perry trainers. These particular items of clothing are seen as being 'chavy' and also represent teenagers as being rough and unsociable as the clothing is not smart or presentable. This is also shown among the other football fans , as the majority of them are wearing jeans and a canvas coat which some could associate with the typical football hooligan look. Our media product can also represent teenagers as being reckless and not thinking about things. For example , the main character is running across central london with not a care in the world except to make it to the football game in time. This therefore shows that the narrative of the product develops a bad representation of this social group. Another technique used within our media product to represent the social group of teenagers is in the script itself. By using strong adult language throughout it represents the teenage social group as being rude and disrespectful. Moreover , the use of violence in our media product re-illustrates this and once again gives teenagers a bad representation.
